Sign This Petition Supporting A Necessary Change in the Silver Alert Law

Silver alert

Silver alertDid you know that the Silver Alert law in Florida has a criterion that the missing senior must have been traveling by motor vehicle? If we think about the many ways that a person can be abducted, you can see why this is a very narrow criterion. People travel by foot all the time and can be abducted in a variety of situations.
A situation has happened recently where a woman with dementia was walking through a plaza by herself and the sheriff’s department said that only a 1.5-mile radius would be searched because the woman was not in a vehicle. It is believed that she got into a car with a stranger for a ride and she has not been heard from since. This situation is very serious and should have been escalated throughout the state of Florida.
Join Cary A. Baker in this petition to escalate the matter to the Governor and state senate to get the Silver Alert law changed as it is too narrow. You can sign the petition here.
