Healthcare Category: Medical Doctor
Dr. Jorge Bordenave, M.D., has an impressive background in both traditional medicine and integrative medical approaches. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Bordenave completed no less than three residency training programs in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Integrative Medicine.
His extensive academic training, years of clinical practice and studies for a healthcare MBA have taught him that there are gaps in conventional medical care that can be filled by the individualization of medical care and use of integrative medicine. That is what integrative medicine strives to accomplish: to blend traditional medical science with natural approaches that enable the human body’s own healing powers to function.
Dr. Bordenave has been in private practice since 1993, first at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and now in Coral Gables, Florida, at Miami Integrative Medicine. His current practice is devoted to non-invasive clinical cardiology and preventive medicine.
His integrative medicine background and residency training have made him a leader in preventive medicine and wellness in South Florida. He is also the only physician in South Florida with the required qualifications and training for the medical evaluation and clearance of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) divers.
Dr. Bordenave is currently on the teaching faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University, Nova Southeastern University, Ross University, and St. Georges University. He is an adjunct Professor of Medicine at Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is the Cardiology lecturer for the Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Psychiatry residents at a Miami teaching hospital.
Dr. Bordenave is active in community health education and medical school training. He regularly lectures in person and on Spanish language radio and television about the importance of diet and lifestyle choices in preserving natural, good health.
