Continue Practicing Social Distancing Seniors!

Social Distancing

covid 19 4946481 640As the pandemic worsens and the virus continues to spread throughout the world, President Trump announced the extension of the official Social Distancing Guidelines until April 30th. What does this mean? Fifteen days were added to the original social distancing decree, which would have ended the same day of the announcement. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of March 29th, there were 122,653 reported cases nationwide and 4,950 in Florida.
Remember:

  • If you feel sick, please, stay home or call a doctor right away
  • Stay away from groups of ten or more
  • Avoid leaving your home unless it is necessary
  • Practice excellent hygiene
  • Do not visit nursing homes, retirement, or long-term care facilities
  • If you are eating out use the drive-thru, home delivery or pick up

Senior cases will continue to rise as more kits become available, we must brace ourselves and prepare. Continue practicing social distancing not just for yourself but for our community. Remember, each day you choose to stay home, you are helping stop the spread of this extremely contagious virus. It is up to all of us. By practicing these guidelines, we can flatten the curve. Please, stay inside and stay informed. You may have come in contact with the virus and could be a carrier who spreads it to someone else. Stay safe and be positive. We will all get through this soon enough.
Readers, if you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, call your nearest medical facility and seek care right away. If you have an underlying condition like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or respiratory conditions, stay away from crowded areas or places. These guidelines were provided by both the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. There is no need to panic but stay informed.
