Amazing Seniors

Every quarter the OurSeniors.net team nominates an Amazing Senior to be featured in the OurSeniors.net Magazine! For our current Fall edition, the team would like to introduce our readers to Cheryl Jenkins. Cheryl was born and raised in Ohio but has lived in Florida since the 1980s. She studied at Youngstown State University and began her career in government security, eventually transitioning into aerospace. After her career in aerospace, she became a real estate consultant, where she earned a “Pride in Profession” award and is currently a proud member of the Honor Society of the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors. Yet, the most impressive quality of Cheryl is her response to adversity. Cheryl was diagnosed with insulin-dependent type-1 diabetes at the age of five. The onset of any disease is enough to make anyone depressed but not Cheryl. She dove deep into research eventually discovering the Help a Diabetic Child Foundation. Cheryl is currently an advocate for children with diabetes and is the Director of Operations for Help a Diabetic Child Volusia County Division. She is truly an Amazing Senior.
