Why are prescription drugs so expensive in the United States? Have you ever wondered why medications are so pricey? According to Johnson and Johnson, (one of the biggest drug owners and manufacturers in the state), they have the power to charge high prices for their products as a way to fund future research projects and create new drugs. Yet how much money is actually needed to support research? In 2016, American's spent over $460 billion on drugs in one year!
