Florida is in Phase 1 of Reopening. What does that mean?

The White House detailed the three-phase approach to reopening America which is based on up-to-date data and works to mitigate resurgence of the coronavirus and protect the vulnerable populations. Each phase is implementable on a state-wide or county-wide basis based on the governor or mayor’s discretion. The state must have a reported downward trajectory of individuals experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms and influenza-like illnesses for 14 days, a downward trajectory of documented cases or downward trajectory of positive tests as a percent of total tests within a 14-day period as well as hospitals that treat all patients without crisis care and have a robust testing program in place for at-risk healthcare workers. Florida is currently in Phase 1 of reopening which means social distancing is still encouraged but vulnerable populations must self-quarantine. Schools will remain closed as well as large venues, movie theatres, barber shops and beauty salons that require close physical contact with patrons.
