A new virus called the Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV has erupted and claimed the lives of 81 people. This virus was first detected in China and has infected almost 3,000 Chinese citizens and citizens in 12 other countries. Since January 21, five people have been identified as positive carriers of the virus in the United States, and there are still 73 people pending investigation, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The pneumonia-like illness linked to SARS is now spreading from person-to-person, yet it is not clear how easily. The World Health Organization has yet to declare the outbreak as a global emergency but keeping yourself safe is critical as the death tolls rise and the virus spreads.
